fantastic-plants are growing like crazy
i love the areo-garden, i picked out the flower seeds out of the three seed compartments and replaced them with little tomato seeds and cucumber seeds and they are about 8 inches tall -i raised the light higher and the stems got thicker---everyday i can hardly wait too see the progress-as a matter of fact i am getting another one to grow lettus-i have cancer stage 4 am doing well but this gardening makes me enjoy life more.

Works great! But, the white model is too bright
I love my aerogarden 3! The plants are growing beautifully. My only concern was that the white color of the model that I ordered made the light reflect brighter into my eyes, and it was a bit annoying at night.

With the grow light shining down, it would reflect back up into my eyes off the white grow surface. I actually ended up spray painting the grow surface with a flat black spray paint and it worked beautifully! I think it looks pretty good like that too!

Tomatoes growing like crazy!!!
WOW is all I can say. My dreams have come true with my Cherry Tomato kit for indoor tomato's just growing crazy and most of all it is fun to see them progress.

Once they end and are spent I plan on replacing them again with the Cherry Tomato Kit as nothing is like a cherry tomato right off the vine!

Tasty herbs, but why these?
Well, this is the kit I tried first, and the back row of plants & center front are doing the best. Both basils shoot right out of their pods. The Dill and Cilantro are growing tall, and there is lots of mint, but it is tiny. The chives are looped back into the sponge & have yet to try to stand up straight, and the Oregano is sprouting within the sponge, but has yet to come out of hiding. And this is at the beginning of week 2. I believe I could probably harvest a little basil at the end of week 3.

The big question is, where is the Parsley? People have suggested they substitute Parsley for Oregano. I'd rather they replace the Red Rubin basil. I have recipes with oregano, but none specifically calling for purple basil. However, I never tasted the stuff, so I may change my mind once I do. Hopefully they included it becase of taste and not for looks.

This is an easy, low maintenence kit. You only have to refil the water bowl when the water gets low & add 2 nutrient tablets every 2 weeks. It comes with 2 starter nutrients, 2 sprouting nutrients & 12 regular nutrient tablets They ask you to place the pods in the order they came in the box. Possibly because of slightly variable light levels. The light is on 17 hours and it only waters when the light is on for this setting.

Two Tomatoes
The AeroGrow AeroGarden is a wonderful, unique product for someone who wants to have fresh herbs or gourmet tomatoes all year round. I purchased this product as a birthday gift and would give the product 5 stars if ALL the plants had started to grow. Two out of the three plants are growing beautifully. The company that sent the garden 6 weeks ago, has still NOT replaced the one plant that didn't sprout. The design of the garden is great and we are still pleased.

Amazon.com Product Description
Designed for use with AeroGrow's ingenious AeroGarden Garden Kit--an herb, bean, pea, flower, and veggie cultivator proven by NASA to be the fastest growing system on (and off) the planet--this seed kit lets you raise beautiful cascading petunias right in the living room, office, or classroom--year round with no dirt, no chemicals, and no mess. The petunia seed kit includes AeroGrow's specially designed seed pods, plus plant nutrients for a full season of multi-colored petunias. A tending and harvesting guide takes you through each step of the growing process. Flowers bloom just 30 days from planting with big, colorful blossoms, which continue blooming for four months; brightening the home or office space through any season.

How these clever seed kits work: Each pod in the kit contains a pre-seeded grow sponge that absorbs just the right balance of air and water the young seedling needs for healthy growth. Specialized nutrient tablets are included for use in a specified order. These time-release tablets contain specific micro and macro nutrients each plant needs, plus seaweed and AeroGrow's patented secret ingredient that keeps tap water acidity at the perfect level. For variety seed packs, pod placement is clearly mapped out inside the box so you never lose track of which plant is which. And, pod labels make it easy to identify plants, helping to optimize humidity for strong, healthy, and amazingly fast germination. Again, the included tending and harvesting guide tells you everything you need to know to successfully cultivate--recipes are even included with herb and lettuce seed kits!

Other AeroGarden seed kits available on Amazon.com include: salad greens, gourmet herbs, chili peppers, cherry tomatoes, and several types of basil. The AeroGarden Garden Kit and shelving accessories are available at Amazon.com as well.
